Warren Ambrose Character Analysis

Ambrose is a colleague of John Nash’s at MIT who strongly disapproves of Nash, believing him to be a “childish bright guy” who foolishly takes on difficult problems. Ambrose is a “moody, intense, somewhat frustrated” mathematician who cultivates a rivalry with Nash, challenging him to solve the notoriously difficult “embedding problem for manifolds”—which Nash later goes on to solve successfully.
