Conrado Torres Character Analysis

Conrado is a journalism student at the university in Oregon who Carlos meets at the fish cannery in Alaska. Conrado moved to America from Binalonan at a young age, and he dreams of unionizing the exploited cannery workers. Carlos meets Conrado again in Seattle, where he fights the corrupt Japanese contractors who have hired goons to bust up the Seattle cannery workers’ union. Conrado is fervently dedicated to the cause of organized labor, and he eventually forms a close bond with José and Nick and plays a key role in organizing the Committee for the Protection of Filipino Rights (CPFR).
