Mrs. Peggot
Mr. Peggot, Mrs. Peggot’s husband, is a kind and patient man, He becomes Maggot’s adoptive father after Maggot’s mother is sent to prison. He helps raise Demon, too, and Demon has fond memories of the times when Mr. Peggot would take him and Maggot fishing when they were children. He sustained a leg injury while working in the mines and has not walked easily since, showing the impact that working in the mines could have on people in the Appalachian region.
