He speaks to Harry for the first time when Harry discovers him in the Room of Requirement. He conjures what Harry later discovers was Fiendfyre, extremely dangerous fire that contains horrific and hungry beasts, but he doesn't have the skills to put the fire out and dies in the inferno.
