Summary
Analysis
Back in the past, Machado drives the woman from the Dream House to her new home in Indiana. The woman’s parents watch as Machado lifts the woman up to get something out of the storage container, and they’re “starry-eyed” at her strength.
Machado makes herself useful in practical ways and proves herself through her strength. Her assistance in the woman’s move across the country shows that she’s still devoted to her, even as their relationship becomes more violent and unbalanced.
