Ron Hall and Denver Moore

BB is Denver and Thurman’s father who takes them in after Big Mama dies. BB seems to be a decent father, but he is also a womanizer who has affairs with multiple married women. Several weeks after Denver and Thurman come to live with him, BB is murdered on the road, presumably by a vengeful husband.
