Primus is the eighty-first Lord of Stormhold’s first son, and one of three living sons when his father dies. He wants desperately to be the next lord of Stormhold, so he isn’t sad when Septimus murders Tertius—though he recognizes that this makes him Septimus’s next target. Primus is terrified of Septimus. He regularly casts runes to help him both evade Septimus and locate the Power of Stormhold. Along his journey to the Power of Stormhold, Primus picks up Tristran and proves himself to be a kind and generous travel companion. Before he can ask Yvaine for the Power of Stormhold, though, Morwanneg slits Primus’s throat. This means that Septimus can become the eighty-second Lord of Stormhold—if, that is, he avenges Primus’s murder first.
