Bill Travis (Bill Traynor) Character Analysis

Bill Travis is the defending champion of the Gretna pie-eating contest in Gordie’s short story “The Revenge of Lard Ass Hogan.” A mechanic at the local gas station, Travis has parlayed his pie-eating abilities into quite a bit of money. His boss pays him extra for the business he brings in (people love to talk to the pie-eating champion) and he also places wagers on himself each year.
