Guntis Character Analysis

In the story in Jimmie’s mum’s book, Guntis is the oldest man in Oto’s village. He and his sister, Mirka, act as wise authority figures, though the story suggests he’s not as wise as he thinks he is. Guntis is gruff and pretends not to like baby Anka, but he can’t resist Anka’s magnetic personality. It’s implied that he’s killed or captured when soldiers come to the village.
