Constance Poole is the head of the Troublesome Creek Sewing Bee club. She’s a snappy, stylish woman who likes to stop by the center to gossip with Eula Foster and Harriet Hardin. She dislikes Cussy Mary Carter and ostracizes her from the community Fourth of July celebration, even though Cussy is at the time white-skinned thanks to a medical intervention.
