The Threepenny Opera

by

Bertolt Brecht

A member of Macheath’s gang, and seemingly the one of the thugs highest up in the pecking order. Matthew is a gifted thief and liar, and is always willing to put himself on the line for his boss. Matthew seems eager to test what he can get away with, though, and occasionally incurs Macheath’s anger for his saucy comments.
