Marcus Character Analysis

Lev’s oldest brother; he’s 28. He’s the only person to make a fuss at Lev’s going-away party and implies that tithing is a cruel practice. For this, Lev’s parents disown him. Months later, when Lev extricates himself from the clappers, he learns that Marcus is the only one willing to act as a guardian after Lev’s failed tithing—Lev’s fall from grace, in the eyes of their parents.
