William III Character Analysis

William III, better known as William of Orange, was one of the leaders of the Glorious Revolution and then the King of England, Scotland, and Ireland from 1689 to 1702. He ruled alongside his wife, Mary II. They ceded most important political powers to Parliament. Acemoglu and Robinson argue that this created England’s inclusive institutions, which allowed its economy to grow rapidly during the Industrial Revolution.
