Mother Agnes Character Analysis

Mother Agnes is the Mother Superior at the Convent School where Uma attends as a child. Uma loves Mother Agnes, who returns Uma's affection. Yet, she feels helpless against MamaPapa's will to keep Uma at home, so she tries to encourage Uma to accept her domestic responsibilities happily. Mother Agnes reaches out to Uma as an adult, in an effort to involve her in church activities.
