The woman from the Dream House loves, trusts, and is deeply attracted to Machado. When Machado sees the woman looking at her, she feels incredibly lucky.
This is the first of several chapters with this title scattered throughout the memoir, each with the same structure. Though each following iteration of the “Déjà Vu” chapter becomes increasingly tense and ominous, this first version of it is filled with love and trust.
