Big Fish

Big Fish

by

Daniel Wallace

The old man appears in Edward’s dream about dying. Towards the end of his life, Edward has a dream about in which many people flood to his house and camp out on his lawn for news of his health. The old man acts as a sort of sage, or wise man who controls the crowd. The old man tells William that he is grateful to Edward because Edward made him laugh, and that is one of the most valuable things that somebody can do for another.
