Frank Iacobucci Character Analysis

Frank Iacobucci is a former Supreme Court of Canada Justice who worked together with Julian Falconer to review the jury system used in cases concerning Indigenous people. The two of them wanted to ensure that Indigenous people were represented by members of their own communities. Iacobucci’s review of the jury system revealed “systemic racism” throughout Canada’s courts, and he proposed 17 recommendations for how to better ensure that the courts, prisons, and jury processes could fairly support Indigenous people.
