Rajen Character Analysis in The Hungry Tide

Kusum met Rajen when she went to find her mother in Dhanbad. He was a kind man who had become disabled after a bus accident. He offered Kusum a place to stay in his shack and later suggested they marry in order to help both Kusum and Kusum's mother. He died five years later, leaving Kusum with nothing but Fokir, who was three years old at the time.
