If We Were Villains: Act 3, Scene 7 Summary & Analysis

Summary
Analysis
After the memorial service, the fourth-years go to the Bore’s Head. They talk little, telling each other their holiday plans in short sentences. Wren has already left with her family, and Meredith asks the group if they think she’ll come back at all after the break after burying Richard. James protests, but Meredith points out that it might be in her best interest to take some time at home. James leaves the table silently as Alexander watches.
Again, James seems more upset by Wren’s distress than anyone else does—and here, his unhappiness at the prospect of her not returning again suggests some kind of attachment between the two of them. Alexander, just as observant as Oliver and a little quicker to understand what he sees, registers all of this.
