Kimball O’Hara, Sr. Character Analysis

Kimball O’Hara, Sr. is Kim’s father and a former regiment member of the Mavericks. After the death of his wife (Kim’s mother) he became an alcoholic and opium user, eventually dying in poverty in Lahore and leaving his son Kim to the care of a half-caste woman. His only legacy is an amulet with identifying documents for Kim and a prophecy, misremembered by the half-caste woman, concerning “A Red Bull on a green field.”
