Mary Shrike Character Analysis

Although she’s married to Shrike, Mary tells Miss Lonelyhearts that she’s done with her husband and agrees to go out with Miss Lonelyhearts. She likes to dance and confides in Miss Lonelyhearts about her difficult childhood and her mother’s death. However, she adamantly refuses Miss Lonelyhearts’s pleas that she sleep with him.
