Nausea: Chapter 19: Thursday Summary & Analysis

Summary
Analysis
In another short entry, Roquentin writes four more pages of his book. He tries to avoid thinking about his work becoming “the only justification for [his] existence,” and finds his thoughts wandering to Anny again.
In this entry, Roquentin starts to articulate an issue that has been interfering with his work on the Marquis. The Marquis’s life has begun to replace his own, and the only meaning in his life is dependent on a historical figure. It looks like Roquentin is beginning to think of replacing the Marquis with Anny as a vessel of significance.
