Kira Character Analysis

Kira is Jonas’s wife and Annabelle and Matthew’s mother. One of her legs is twisted, which is why she walks with a cane. Like Jonas, Kira has light blue eyes that mark her as having a gift. In her case, she can use her skill at embroidery and textile work to see the future. However, in the novel’s present, she senses her power is waning, though she remains a skilled fiber artist. Kira dedicates her time and energy to caring for her toddlers and supporting Jonas. She’s also an important adult in Gabe’s life: she’s the first person Gabe feels comfortable confiding in about his gift of veering, for instance. She was the protagonist of Gathering Blue.
