Silicosis Term Analysis

A disease caused by the build up of prairie dust, which is high in silica content (a compound in mineral quartz and sand), in the lungs. The coarse dust tears at “the honeycombed web of air sacs” in the lungs, thereby weakening the body’s resistance to infection.
