A grenadier in one of Caputo’s squads. Esposito is “stocky” and “dark-skinned.” Due to a serious illness, he is going to be evacuated back to the United States. He has been in the Marines for four years and talks about going home, but he is ambivalent due to his loyalty to the battalion and a wish to remain with Corporal Parker, his friend since boot camp.
