Doctor Joseph Blake Character Analysis

Joseph Blake is the kindly, elderly local doctor who regularly tends to the Mannon family. He is also a member of the chorus of townsfolk in the trilogy’s second play, The Hunted. Though Blake is loyal to the Mannons, frequently defending them against their neighbors’ gossip, he is perhaps actually too trusting, believing Christine’s story that Ezra died of angina (a heart condition) without investigating further.
