Miss Pansy Price is a woman who lives in the town of Barkley Cove. When Kya is a child, she hears Miss Pansy Price refer to her as “swamp trash.” Despite this insensitivity, though, Miss Pansy Price later visits Sheriff Jackson to tell him that she saw Kya board a bus two days before Chase Andrews’s murder and return the day after, thereby going out of her way to corroborate Kya’s alibi.
