As the Black Hawk helicopter comes back, Ben tells Dumbo to shoot him at close range in a way that won’t puncture any intestines. He tells his squad to wait no more than 48 hours for him. He goes to the helicopter alone, just saying “Go,” every time the pilot asks about the rest of his unit.
Ben’s plan at this point is still mysterious, but it seems clear that he is setting up some sort of deception. Although Ben got through the mission with help from his squad mates, he still hasn’t fully gotten over his habit of trying to take on responsibilities alone to protect others.
