Dick is Betsy’s brother and Demon’s great-uncle. He uses a wheelchair to get around and is doted on by Betsy and Jane Ellen. Dick is a thoughtful, caring person who is obsessed with books. He makes kites and fills the fabric with handwritten quotes from the books he’s reading. Demon and Dick develop a close bond while Demon is living at Betsy’s house.
