It’s Kind of a Funny Story: Chapter 27 Summary & Analysis

Summary
Analysis
Humble tells Craig he heard there might be a pizza party that night, where everyone chips in some cash to get a local pizza. He tells Craig more about the people in the ward like Ebony, a black woman who has no teeth. He also tells Craig a rumor that Solomon did so much acid when he was younger that he now thinks he can talk to God. J/C left the previous day. When Craig gets back, he sees a note from Noelle on his chair that suggests meeting up the next day at 7:00 p.m.
The pizza party is an example of how the psychiatric hospital builds a sense of solidarity among the patients due to their shared conditions. Noelle seems to represent the possibility of a new connection and a new beginning for Craig, but her elusive way of communicating with him suggests that Craig will have to work hard to make this connection.
