Grenn is one of Jon Snow’s friends on the Night’s Watch. He and Jon Snow are initially enemies, as Jon Snow uses his combat training to humiliate other recruits in his class, including Grenn. Ultimately, Jon Snow helps train Grenn, and the two become good friends. Grenn is part of the group of Jon’s friends who stop him from deserting the Night’s Watch after Ned’s execution.
