Fever Pitch: Chapter 41 Summary & Analysis

Summary
Analysis
Nick takes a job as a teacher at Cambridge. He attends his teenage students’ football games. At one match, he is so absorbed in the gameplay that he screams and jumps for joy when his team scores. He quickly remembers that the players are just teenagers and that he is their teacher, and he feels silly.
Nick is now in his 20s, and he still finds himself overly absorbed with football. Though he doesn’t seem to be quite as obsessed as he was as an adolescent, he is still emotionally dependent on the sport.
