Megan Sarkar Character Analysis

Amit’s American wife in “A Choice of Accommodations,” Megan is practical, caring, and intelligent. She tries to support Amit as he revisits his memories and insecurities at Langford but also holds her ground, frustrated by his tendency to romanticize the past. Independent and realistic, Megan is a med student in her final year of residency at Mount Sinai, often working long, late hours while Amit is the primary parent for their daughters, Monika and Maya. She desires stability and a more transparent connection with her husband, who seems distant during Pam’s wedding. Like Amit, she also feels insecure, having discovered a hole in the skirt she chose to wear to the ceremony just before it began. Additionally, she suspects that Amit might be downplaying his romantic past with Pam.
